There are many factors that cause acne are medically known as acne vulgaris this. One is the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes that many landed on human skin. Sudden growth of bacteria can make the immune system so alert and trigger inflammation leading to the prevalence of acne.

More recently, scientists have discovered that benign virus that lives in the skin is a natural antidote to the bacteria that cause acne. The virus is a type of bacteriophages, viruses that are just eating bacteria, not human cells and different with the HIV virus or polio.

In a report published journal mBio, researchers explain that bacteriophages in this face naturally look for the bacteria that cause acne. Because living in the same place even practically neighbors, the virus is believed to be more potent than the acne medications on the market.

Ironically, this virus has actually discovered a few decades ago. Scientists at the University of California, Los Angeles and at the University of Pittsburgh also suspect that a new type of acne medication can be made from this virus. Of course this conclusion is based on the analysis of genetic advance,

To treat acne, there are a variety of ways that can be done. However, each approach has its limitations. For example, antibiotics ultimately failed because the bacteria can become resistant. Moreover, many acne medications have adverse side effects.

Using bacteriophage virus to kill acne bacteria could be a more efficient approach because the virus is essentially a natural predator, not the synthetic antibiotics.

"The most promising is the finding that the acne bacteria and bacteriophage viruses have genes that are simple and almost identical. It seems that it was the result of a unique habitat and limited, "said researcher, Robert Modlin as reported by NBC News.

In essence, bacteriophage alone can be used as a killer bacteria that cause acne. These viruses can be used directly as a medicine or therapy. Doctors can isolate elements that potent virus, but lab testing is still needed to find the exact composition of the virus.

In laboratory experiments, the virus was able to kill all the bacteria that cause acne. Now, the researchers plan to isolate the active protein of the virus and test whether it has the same effectiveness as the original virus.
